This patient is a 29 year old female who came to my medical practice regarding the appearance of her breasts. Specifically, she was unhappy with the smaller, "deflated" appearance her breasts which had occured after pregnancy. (Please note that the patient had a large scar from prior abdominal surgery due to a trauma, and decided not to correct her abdominal appearance at the time of her breast surgery.)
I recommended a breast augmentation using silicone implants and a circumareolar mastopexy (tightening around the areola) to improve her shape and perkiness, while minimizing scarring. I felt that an implant in the upper 300cc range would bring her from an A-cup to the full C-cup breast size she desired.
During surgery, I used Mentor 375cc smooth, round, moderate profile-plus cohesive silicone gel implants placed through the areola and under the chest muscle. I also tightened the breast skin and raised the areolas using a circumareolar mastopexy.
The patient recovered well after surgery and was extremely happy with the fuller, perkier and natural appearance of her breasts.
