This is a female in her mid-fifties who presented to my practice with interest in corrective breast surgery and repair of her abdominal area.

With regards to her breasts, this patient had undergone prior breast augmentation by another surgeon many years ago and felt that her breasts were too large. I felt that to regain a natural appearance, I would need to exchange her saline implants for silicone implants, tighten the internal breast pockets to reposition the implants, and round our her breasts by using her previous Wise pattern incision (anchor scar) to improve the overall shape and symmetry.

From the standpoint of her abdomen, I felt she would be an excellent candidate for a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with tightening of the internal muscles and liposuction of the love handles.

In the operating room, I exchanged this patient's overfilled saline implants (260cc overfilled to 280cc) for new Mentor cohesive silicone gel moderate plus profile implants. Due to pre-existing asymmetry, I had to use a 200cc implant on the right and a 175cc implant on the left for the best size match. I also performed extensive internal pocket tightening as well as external tightening with a Wise pattern incision. I also performed a full abdominoplasty with tightening of the abdominal muscles and liposuction of the flanks at the same time.

The patient recovered very well after surgery and was extremely happy with her improved, natural breast and body appearance.
