This patient is a female in her 30's who presented to my practice with interest in revision breast surgery. This patient had undergone a previous breast augmentation with tightening around the areola by another surgeon where saline implants had been placed her chest muscles. The patient was unhappy with her firm, unnatural breast appearance and wished to have revision surgery. The patient had also undergone a prior abdominoplasty by another surgeon as well and had some residual laxity in the lower abdomen that she was unhappy with.

For this patient, I recommended multiple maneuvers to improve her breast appearance. First, I recommended changing her implants from saline to silicone cohesive gel for a softer, more natural look and feel. Secondly, I recommended using Strattice (an acellular dermal matrix) to act as an internal bra and minimize the risk of visibility of the implant and capsular contracture. (Please see the link on my website for more information on Strattice). Next, I recommended a vertical (lollipop scar) breast lift to reshape the breasts and improve the nipple positions. Finally, I felt that a small revision mini abdominoplasty would give the patient a significant improvement of the laxity in her lower abdomen.

During surgery I placed Mentor 350cc moderate plus cohesive silicone gel implants and performed all of the above-mentioned maneuvers including the placement of Strattice. The patient recovered very well after surgery and was extremely happy with her much softer, more natural and aesthetically pleasing breasts and the improvement of her lower abdomen.
