This patient is a 45 year old female who presented to my medical practice with complaints about tight, unnatural appearing breasts. The patient was particularly unhappy with the firmness of her breasts and the gap between her breasts. She had undergone breast augmentation many years earlier with placement of dual lumen (combination saline / silicone) implants.

In this particular patient's case, I recommended removing much of her old internal scar tissue, switching her old implants for new cohesive silicone gel implants, and performing internal pocket tightening to reposition her implants. I felt that she might require tightening around the areola, but would perform that procedure only if necessary.

In the operating room, I performed a complex breast revision surgery which included the above mentioned maneuvers. I changed her implants to smooth, round, moderate-plus profile cohesive silicone gel Mentor implants, and I upsized her to a 350cc implant on the left and a 375cc implant on the right for the best proportion and symmetry. After all of the internal work was completed, I did not need to tighten the skin around the areola, therefore she was left with only a fine scar under the areola.

The patient recovered very well after surgery, and felt that her results far exceeded her expectations.
