This patient is an 18 year old female from the Tempe, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice due to concerns about her breasts.  Specifically, she felt they were disproportionately small, and she did not like their pointy shape.

On examination, I felt that this patient had tuberous breasts, with excess tightness of the lower breast causing a narrow, droopy appearance with excess protrusion of the areolas.  I recommended a combination of breast augmentation with circumareolar mastopexy (tightening around the areolas) to both improve her size and "round out" the appearance of her breasts.

In surgery, I placed Mentor smooth, round, high profile cohesive silicone gel implants through the areolas and under the chest muscles.  I used a 400cc implant on the left and a 375cc implant on the right due to preoperative asymmetry.  After this, I performed a circumareolar mastopexy to improve the breast shape and to elevate the nipples into a higher position.

After surgery the patient healed well, and she was extremely happy with her results.  Her new breast shape and size allowed her to fit into a wider variety of clothes and boosted her self confidence.
