This 31-year-old woman from the Phoenix, Arizona area came to me because she was concerned about her breasts' shape and size. In her consultation at my Scottsdale area medical practice she explained that she was very unhappy with her breasts' asymmetric, "pointy" shape and felt that their small size appeared disproportionate to her body. She wished to undergo cosmetic surgery to go from the A-cup bra size range to the C-cup range and create a rounder, more aesthetically pleasing breast shape.

This patient had a mild form of tuberous breasts, so I felt that she would be a good candidate for breast augmentation. We decided that silicone implants together with a circumareolar mastopexy to tighten the skin and tissues around her areolas would improve the roundness and proportions of the breasts. This patient had very high and tight lower breast folds, so I knew that the greatest challenge in her procedure would be to achieve a nice lower-breast curve.

During surgery, I inserted Mentor smooth, round, high profile cohesive silicone gel implants, and I found that a 400cc implant on the left and a 450cc implant on the right created the best overall symmetry. I also released some of the tightness in her lower breast tissues and improved the roundness of her breasts by tightening skin and tissue around the areolas.

After surgery, the patient healed very nicely, and said she could not have been happier with the natural shape and improved size of her breasts. Her breasts appear much rounder and more feminine, and as her postoperative photos show, they have a lovely smooth, round appearance that complements her body nicely.
