This patient is a 45 year old male who presented to my practice with interest in correction of his gynecomastia. This patient was in good shape, but felt that there was a modest excess fullness in his chest causing a "pointy" appearance despite frequently working out.
On examination, I felt that this patient had a combination of excess fat, and glandular tissue (firm, rubbery breast tissue). I recommended a combination of power-assisted liposuction and direct glandular tissue removal through the lower areolar borders.
In surgery, I directly removed approximately 8 grams of glandular tissue from each side, in addition to approximately 100cc of fat from the right side and 80cc from the left via power assisted liposuction.
After surgery, the patient had a significant flattening of the breast which gave him a more masculine appearance. He was very happy with the overall improvement.
