This patient is a 43-year-old male who presented to my practice with concerns about his appearance. He was unhappy with the fullness in his chest and flanks that persisted despite constant exercise.

I felt that a combination of power-assisted liposuction and glandular tissue removal through the lower border of the areola would give him the best improvement in his appearance. I also felt the patient would have improvement of the flanks with power-assisted liposuction.

During surgery, I removed 37 grams of glandular tissue from the left chest and approximately 45 grams from the right due to a small preoperative asymmetry. I also performed power-assisted liposuction and removed 50 cc from each side of the chest to flatten and blend areas of excess fat, along with liposuction of the flanks. This resulted in a significant improvement in the patient's chest and torso contour.

After surgery, this patient recovered very well and was thrilled with his new appearance. He feels much more confident shirtless and also feels great about how he looks in T-shirts and other tighter-fitting clothes.
