This 24-year-old woman came to my practice because she was concerned about her breast shape and size. She was very unhappy because her breasts were different sizes, had a "pointy" shape, and were too small. I determined that this patient had a mild form of tuberous breasts, so I felt that she would be a good candidate for tuberous breast surgery that included breast augmentation.
During surgery, I placed Mentor smooth, round, high profile, cohesive silicone gel implants of different sizes, a 275cc implant on the left and a 325cc implant on the right, for the best overall symmetry. I also released some of the tightness in her lower breast tissues to provide a lower-breast curve and improved the roundness of her breasts by tightening skin and tissue around the areolas with a circumareolar mastopexy (breast lift).
Tuberous breast surgery at my Santa Monica practice is a life-changing procedure for many women. Patients usually feel more attractive and confident because of their improved shape.
